The new “Swag” – Recently Telus approached me about doing professional headshots for attendees at the SBBC (Small Business BC) Annual Awards show. A creative new concept for events/conferences – instead of handing out “swag” bags of pens and paper, they decided to offer attendees complimentary professional headshots that people could then use for LinkedIn and other Social Media platforms. Essentially the headshot is the “Swag” – something they felt would be of much better use, and I couldn’t agree more.
The time allotment was two ninety minute sessions. One before and one following the awards presentation. This was extended as the response was so overwhelming, with some attendees waiting for over an hour! The feedback at the event and since, has been an astoundingly positive! I loved every minute of it getting to meet great people all while doing something I love – taking their photo! Keep your eyes open at the next event you attend–
