Jenn and Rob first met, as co-workers, while working at a local brew pub, in 2003. They had mixed first impressions of each other. Rob thought Jenn was a cute, funny girl to work with – while Jenn thought Rob was a bit of a jerk as he was always on her case about how she was serving the tables!
They didn’t reconnect for another 8 years when Rob asked Jenn out on a date – although Rob contests that, saying it was just a catch up.“I wasn’t asking with the intention of a date – but we had really good connection and sparks flew!” From then on they were a couple.
During the next four years they created many great moments together;  their trips to Victoria, Portland, California, and a family cabin on the Gulf Islands. One of Jenn’s most memorable moments, was after returning from a trip to Sedona, Arizona,

…after returning from a trip to Sedona, Jenn finally mustered up the courage to tell Rob that she loved him!

she finally mustered up the courage to tell Rob that she loved him! She was SO nervous, but she truly loved him and had never met anyone so kind, with such a wonderful sense of humour.  Little did she know that Rob felt the same – he loved her sense of humour, and her kind and supportive nature.

Their biggest and most exciting memory was after a hike up Cypress Mountain to Eagle Bluffs. They had decided to do the hike to help Jenn train for a 3-day hike that she had planned. Rob had a different agenda, he was going to propose at the top of the mountain!! To celebrate her “YES” (he was quite confident), he decided to bring a bottle of wine on the hike. Jenn thought it was quite odd as it was a 3-hour hike! Not very far into the hike, Jenn noticed that Rob kept rushing her up the mountain and was getting annoyed as the pack was so heavy! Little did Jenn know that Rob’s nervousness and excitement were because he wanted to get to the top as quickly as possible! Once they finally reached the top Rob wasn’t sure if he was going to go through with his proposal as there were so many people and crowds. He was nervous and there wasn’t a quieter place nearby so he finally plucked up his courage and got down on bended knee and proposed. Complete silence followed –
Jenn was in complete shock and didn’t say a word for what felt like an eternity.

Jenn was in complete shock and didn’t say a word for what felt like an eternity.  The longest minute of Rob’s life! Once Rob’s words sunk in, she was ecstatic and, of course, said YES!!

Jenn had always wanted to get married in her parents beautiful, West Vancouver backyard overlooking the ocean.  They both agreed and planned the wedding for August of 2016. However, destiny had other plans. Early in 2016 they found out some very exciting and surprising news – Jenn was pregnant with their son!  They couldn’t have been happier and decided to move their wedding date up to June.  In keeping with the “family” theme they wanted to have their cat and dog as part of the wedding party, but just decided to have Penny the dog walk down the aisle with them, as they didn’t think the cat would be as cooperative!
